What is Tuning Software/a Remap

A remap/tuning software is one of the most effective modifications you can make to your vehicle.
Manufacturers de-tune vehicles at the factory, this is done due to having to sell cars all over the world; this means that the software settings on the ECU must take into account different climates, laws, restrictions, and varying quality of fuels. Vehicle remapping is basically the modification to optimise the manufacturer’s default software on the ECU.

We offer Safe, Dyno Proven Remaps for your vehicle.

All of our software has been meticulously tested on a dyno and road before being sold to our customers. The software is designed to stay within the standard tolerances and parameters of the cars limits.

When a mobile remap is performed, a prebuilt tune is loaded into the cars ECU. This is tuning software has been meticulously tested on a dyno and road before being sold to our customers. The benefits of a mobile tune is convenience, you don’t have to leave your home or workplace as we come to you!

A Dyno tune is for someone looking to push there car further than standard parameters allow, this usually mean the car has added non standard parts such as upgraded turbo chargers, larger injectors, or a full blow track setup.

The short answer is yes, however this is heavily dependant on how you chose to drive your car…

A more powerful car will get to 60mph quicker and will require less to maintain that speed – increasing your MPG theoretically.

However, a more powerful is much more exciting to drive and we fully expect customers to have fun in a freshly remapped car – decreasing your MPG!

Vehicle manufacturers tune their cars so that they can perform to the same standard regardless of climate and fuel grades all over the world. This leads to downtuning which avoids any damage to parts within the warranty window. We are lucky in the UK to have both a great climate and top grade fuel available.  With this in mind a remap can further tune a car to meat the high grade fuel and climate we have. This is most likely the case with a stage 1 remap.

Shortly after turbo charged cars became a mainstream build the tuning industry really took off! Most of these cars require similar parts to take them to the next level of power, thus it became easier for a car to be known as Stage 1, Stage 2, or Stage 3 tuned, an easy way for a company to sell products to a customer and an easy way for a customer to tell others what power level their car is at.

Normally ‘Stage’ tunes follow the build sheets below.

Stage 1 – Software requires no additional parts other than a healthy engine.

Stage 2 – Software requires a free-flowing exhaust and an induction kit. Supplying the engine with more air and the ability to increase combustion.

Stage 3 – Normally requires the introduction of an intercooler, on some cars this can also be a turbocharger and fueling changes.
